A weird analyses on the results for  Top 100 Public Intellectuals Poll conducted by Prospect Magazine (UK) and Foreign Policy (US). Do you see any difference as I did?

People who voted think religious preachers are more impotent intellectuals to this world than atheists. The same crowd was mentally aright  in 2005 . Also , now there are more intellectuals in south Asia and gulf compared to west.

Looks like whole poll has intention of appeasement.

When was the last time you exclaimed “Oh my god” in public ? and which god was it ? You don’t now ?? well , you better know it. Some one might sit on your neck and prove your exclaim is very offensive to him. Also it would be politically and theologically incorrect and big time violation of his rule he has read.

Here is a guys who went on proving the same stuff all over again. To mention some:

1. God came and told me “I am god. If any other gods come and claim that they are also gods, its wrong. please note down there is no god other than me”. Now there if there are any , that is a violation.

2. God said that he doesn’t have a face , if any other gods claim to have face thats again violation, since my god said so.

so on , you ll find many such logical reasoning in this video.

There are several Jokes on Adam and Eve, the first prophets. This political joke is my favorite among them. I read many versions of it , with Russians , Egyptians and Indians also. Pakistani version is very apt for the context. No offense .. but truth

A German, a Frenchman, an Englishman, and an Pakistani went to an Art museum and were spending some time in front of the painting of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. After observing the painting for a while an intrigued observer asked the four men where they thought Adam and Eve’s origins could be from.

The German said: “Look at the perfection of their bodies. She with her slender and well-formed figure and he with that athletic body and bulging muscles. There is no doubt they must be of German origin.”

Immediately the Frenchman reacts! “C’est Impossible! One can clearly see the eroticism that is exuding from both figures… She so feminine? He so masculine… And both so aware of the impending temptation… They must be French!”

Shaking his head in disagreement, the Englishman comments: “Oh No, Chaps it can’t be! Note the serenity on their faces, their delicate pose, the sobriety in their gestures. They could only be English.”

After a few more seconds of contemplation, the Pakistani exclaims: “I do NOT agree with ANY of your theories! Look closer, they do not have clothes, they do not have shoes, and they do not even have shelter. All they have is ONE apple to eat and to top it all off it is prohibited, there is fatwa on it! They don’t protest and they STILL think they are in Paradise!?? Clearly, these two can only be Pakistanis!!!”

And this is latest controversy on Adam and Eve, the first prophets – A Pakistani version. This cartoon was published in a Pakistani Magazine some time back. As expected there was a fatwa on the editors. And Guess what was the complaint ? Cartoonist painted the couple “naked”. Guess I need to read holy books again , these guys questioning my memory

The story Ramayana* is his entire life journey starting from his innocent youth, his mastery over skills in winning Sita, his role as dutiful and obedient son to adhere to his father’s words while aware of the flagitious intensions of his step mother. He gives up all the worldly richness and sets away to spend 14 years in jungle. Sita being his wife accompanies him followed by Laxman, Ram’s younger brother.

They spend quite an adventurous and romantic** life in the forest. Sita finds her world in her husband Ram and experiences an unspelled love for him. Everything works fine when one day, Sita gets abducted by Ravana while Ram is away to fulfill one of her impossible wishes. Ram does everything possible to get back his love. He gathers a huge army, builds a bridge across an ocean, does all that he could. Finally, he succeeds to kill Ravana and gets her back. With this they complete 14 years of stay in jungle and they return to their kingdom after which they should have lived happily ever after.

But the story takes turmoil instead, Ram’s story ends here and Sita’s story begins. This happens when a subject of Ram’s kingdom whispers “how could Ram trust Sita, who been with Ravana for so long”. Ram wants a test now, Agni-Pareeksha – A test to check purity of a woman, by entering into fire. Exactly this part of the story becomes hard to digest. This is where so many questions arise and is left unanswered.

• Did it serve right for a person like Ram ‘the so called God’ to come down to such a cruel act?
• Is he setting example for all men or rather his followers to commit such an act?
• Or is he doing right by following well set example from his predecessors?
• Ram must have done justice to his kingdom? But why not to his wife? Had he really loved her he wouldn’t have banished her at such a crucial moment.

Did it serve her right to undergo another painful punishment after she had been a victim and had already suffered years of pain in the evil’s custody?

Why anywhere in the whole epic Sita does not have any views? Why didn’t she refuse when they were to leave for jungle (her sister Urmila does that)? Why didn’t she not ask back “why should I jump into fire?” “Don’t you trust me?”

We often come across people stating ‘Ram jaisa pati mila hai’. Can we really consider Ram as an ‘example for perfection’?

If these questions are answered they can be called as Sitayana. It should contain the entire possible thing Sita would have had in mind, but not presented in Ramayana. Nina Paley an Indian born professional animation moviemaker is releasing Santayana. She says:

“We never really know why Rama banishes Sita. Common interpretations resemble rationalizations and apologies: Rama “had to” abuse Sita to maintain the traditional order of his kingdom, in which the opinion of the lowliest man ranked higher than the life of any woman. As literature, Rama’s behavior towards Sita makes no sense…except it’s so realistic. It is the Ramayana’s ambiguities that make it so compelling.”

I strongly feel, movie is going to make some level of controversy and protest. If you are planning to participate, please make sure you have answers to all the questions Ms. Paley is asking.

I am done; I am not atheist any more. Thanks for all those who continuously tried convince me that “almighty God exists “(like credit card salesmen). Thanks for all those mails and pamphlets. Now that I have opened my mind and accepted God exists, please help me further to understand “which package” of god is suitable for my life style. I heard they come in different features. (Sarcasm is intended in whole paragraph)

And to all those who are still atheists, here is a story if a holy Barber which opened my mind (or closed … or whatever)

A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed. As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation. They talked about so many things and various subjects. When they eventually touched on the subject of God,

the barber said: “I don’t believe that God exists.”

” Why do you say that?” asked the customer.

“Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn’t exist. Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain. I can’t imagine loving a God who would allow all of these things.”

In India believers have some undefined dislike towards animal products into places of worship. They are not allowed into temples and places of worships. I really don’t buy the idea of we all started as vegetarians and animal lovers, but I feel they are introduced into the religion to convince the followers to show god loves animals too.

Major three or four religions in India want its followers to be vegetarians. Most of the followers successfully convince their gods, that they will be vegetarians on specific days of the week (Fridays Lakshmi, Saturdays Vishnu etc).I saw so many of them while ordering in a hotel “two Rotis … and then …hmm… today what ..??Tuesday… alright … Butter chicken!”.

People don’t enter temples if they had taken any non-veg that day, and most of them can’t explain why?

These all confusing rules, people made them and the same people find loopholes not to follow them, Then why to have them at all. Why restrict only to temples.

There are some more of them

• Kerosene are not supposed be used in any of places of worships. They are considered to be animal product, came into form by tones of animals and plants died billions of years ago.
• Sugar is not used in any of the Hindu religious ceremonies. The reason is sugar is prepared from Jaggery, and while doing it they polish jaggery with some animal product (I guess it is leather). So any sweet is cooked is using Jaggery directly.

I have listed certain things which are missing in those rules.

• All gods and goddesses wear silk. All Shwethambaras and Peethambaras presented to gods are silk, which are results of boiling thousands of silkworms. Similarly honey, which is obtained killing or burning thousands of honeybees.
• Worships are accompanied with drums, which of course cannot be made of plastic. One priest explained me (proudly) drums (and similar) have leather of camel (lizard leather for small ones) and sting instruments have horse skin (stings made out of that).
• Krishna idols have feathers on his head. Idols have Hamsa-thulika-thalpa (bed made out of feathers of a swan), and Chamara (Fans). I am sure no peacock or swan volunteer and donate its feathers, it I supposed to be bought from a hunter

I see similar so many things, which animal loving people are forgot to mention in the books.

Two things to conclude.

We were never vegetarians originally. Sacrifice wouldn’t have had a meaning otherwise. Neither were we animal lovers (remember Ashwa-medha-yaga?). Every now and then priests get bored they create something like this ,  “vegetarians only”.

Following Friday Vegetarianism religiously is just hypocrisy.

People find different ways to satisfy their egos. They see themselves big. So big they want to have a fan base who bows to them. Who will bow to them? Don’t worry there are big names who don’t know why they are bowing.
They are above every one, you, me, law and the nation… yes nations. Generally “they” are called to be “jagadguru”, or “shree shree shree…” (“amma” or “Mata” for females) i.e. gurus of the world (universe to be specific).

Jaya and Vijaya were twins who worked in a security company. They guard almost all Hindu temples.

Some five hundred years ago General of Aurangazeb army mallikafur who was running a demolition drive, stopped by. That time he had an assignment to demolish illegal building from India’s map. Over. Remaining photos are here and here. Jaya-Vijaya lost their jobs here. Their decedents are teaching India secularism. Mallikafur got a great reward, later he had similar assignments for a long. His decedents are working with Taliban. Aurangazeb was best emperor ever in India. The secularism defined by him is widely adopted in India, even after 500 years. Some time later Mohammed bin tughalak (IQ 4) gave a tough competition in terms of taking important decision.

Fact: this place is badly butchered. Every person embedded in wall lost any one of their body part. Main Idol had public execution. Ornaments, money, valuables etc are taken away.

Please note : I dont have any sentimental attachment towards any religion and faith. They are all same stuff for me. But i hate someone tries to prove ” my shit smells better that your shit “. Please call yourself pseudo-secularism ( exmples by sandeep) .

This video tries to give a complete picture on history of religions. It covers five major religions, major events which changed course of history, and how they spread/vanish in last 5000 year. It’s a beautiful video.

But few questions on it…

They start first religion to be around 3000 BC, started with birth of Krishna. What was there in India before him? (Rama is not a Hindu??? What about Veda’s). Historians are very much fond of including Ramayana and Mahabharata into history. I really don’t know how they justify all the events happened in those epics.

Why not go back to 10000 BC and include all the epics and holy texts (all of them ) into history? I heard they are interesting, like “Adam, Eve and dinosaurs walking side by side”.

Can be interpreted as :

Concepts need not be valid just because they are told in books (holy books especially )), mythologies etc. Nor things are right if they are modern. Gentlemen test and then trust, fools believe what is told and written.

Quote is quite relevant. People when can not justify what they are practicing and what they believe, just hold some outdated books responsible. “Since it is written in…”

My, god! This beauty… Freshness on face…

How can he just think about these things?

How can he (moon) compete with?

Now this poet (lyricist) has compared moon with girlfriends face. How can he just do it?? I declare a “Fatwa” against the lyricist, Err… Who was it anyway?? Ok Chuck it… I declare it on Salman khan (because he starred the movie… that’s it … don’t ask more).

I declare all the people in the world (including those who are in cradle and also those who are in ICU) to not to hum the song / listen / watch (also any salman khan’s). And the reasons why…

• The moon considered being holy (don’t ask how) in our religion.

• It is considered to calculate the human destiny and his afterlife.

• It used to give light for lovers before candle light diner was invented.

• One holy book has a mention on a particular page (I have not read it any way) that moon is not supposed be compared with anything.

• And also for several other religious reasons… Which can’t be revealed to general public What authority I have?? Do I really need one..??

I also extend the fatwa on Shakespeare, who have done the same mistake (I haven’t read them either)

It translates something like this: They don’t sacrifice a horse, neither an elephant. Never ever a tiger. A poor lamb is sacrificed. God hurts only weak

Ever since God/protector was created, people wanted a way to “give back” in return to all the protection, mercy and other things he is offering. It is natural to think that god, who exists need to take something from us, when he doing so may miracles (like birth, death etc.). Now having created god, what one can naturally think about him, is “he is like us”. He eats what we eat. He likes ornaments like we do. And he likes to eat goat/buffalos like we do. This can be one answer.

The other what I can think about is. Relaxing the rules! So many religious rules, so much less time to follow. Or life is so advanced that, either one can not afford to or not allowed practice. So what the best solution is follow the rules which are convenient, comfortable. Or Change them according to your convenience and say this is actually the way.

Now in this context rule (bloody rule) was sacrifice is blood. There is always a concept that almighty asked them blood, but never mention when, how and where he asked. Initially there were people who were getting sacrificed. A fighting fit person will always show resistance, so women and kids. If the tribe has a feeling that they are their own, take someone from neighboring tribe. All these are about satisfying god.

As days passed, we became more civilized. We chucked human beings and started sacrifice what we tame. If it useful animal like a horse or a camel, again No. Find something where sacrifice is also some and we can eat it also later. Now what vegetarians do? Don’t laugh, they sacrifice a pumpkin!! and there is no blood in it, so put some “kumkum” (red powder) and make it look like flesh. Ultimately what people do if what is very convenient to them, and justify it.

One more point to say which is not highly relevant to the context. There is a practice that “shave off” head in some pilgrimage places. They keep justifying it as sacrificing something that belongs to them, to god. Alright why don’t you give something important… like a finger? Or at least peel off a finger nail and come back. It hurts, isn’t it? Shaving has no pain. I actually asked someone this question. He said “god doesn’t need blood”. Well he doesn’t want hair either.

All social and religious rules are written based on the rule maker’s conveniences, his beliefs and his place of living. Ultimately what followers do if what is very convenient to them, and justify it.

It’s very natural that a person has affection over me, myself and mine ( ours ). For example, Compare to all culture in the world mine is the best. No matter how illogical and arrogant is the argument, every person has a word to say about mine/ours. Most of them need not have relevance to the present at all and also evidence of which is buried thousands of years ago.

The discussion can be, which race is better ? Who had better civilization ? Which country had a better history ( forget the presence or future ) ? Which religion is better ? Whose god is better ? Etc. etc. Come to India . We have some more matters to taken care in addition. Is north India is better or south ? Which language s better (usually this is Tamil – Hindi argument in internet). Which state is better? Religion and race, who’s is better? Which caste? Which sub caste? Which class? Which faith? Which god? Boy..!! You ask for it. Its there!

One of the topics I was interested in learning was AIT (Aryan invasion theory). Its Almost 100 years, since they proposed theory of AIT. Still there is lot to talk about it and lot to discover also. Fight is between the theories “Aryans actually original inhabitants of India” or “came from outside”. Originally AIT stated by German scholar max Muller, later opposed furiously by one group and opposed by another. Every one wants to prove they are the original forefathers of great India. There was an online book about AIT defining completely different story, title is Bible of Aryan Invasions ( update: the site is banned in india, try these links : light, sabha. If one has no idea about what Indian races and history, will completely get miss-lead by this theory. The book is highly confused between history and mythology. I completely read the book twice, and the summary is “every foreigner came to India since 2000 BC is Aryan, every war happened in India is Aryan – Dravidian”. If given time author world have proved the meteoroids hit in Jurassic age were also Aryan ones. The book is written more with outburst and less with common sense.The author classifies invasions with chronological order. There are around 20 Aryan invasions, starting from rig Vedic Aryan invasion to republic
India the first six of them are based on Veda , purana and Mahabharata

The book proposes a historic event(s) with reference of mythology and stories. Nobody yet proved great wars of Ramayana and Mahabharata were real. Most of the things described in these epics are imaginary. The heroes and bad guys in both possess powers and capacities that a normal human being can’t imagine at all. Now can this kind of scriptures be proof of an event happened on human race?

If at all they are considered to be true, and historic, the chronology in which they are presented is completely wrong. Ramaite Aryan Invasion is projected later than The Krishnaite Aryan Invasion. Both history (if they are true) and mythology says otherwise. Now with this kind of messing up, how to believe chronology of rest of them. Some more “truths” described:

“Krishna destroyed the surviving traces of the Indus Valley civilization, abducting and raping 16000 women (low-caste `gopis’) of the races he exterminated“.

Krishna himself was a Sheppard, a Gopal or dada (if he considers as low-caste) and gopi’s are his friends. This is well known fact for one who knows Krishna. Now does The Krishnaite Aryan Invasion make sense? “The revolt by the non-Aryans and mixed races led to the terrible Mahabharatan War between the Aryan Pandavas on one side and the mixed race Kauravas and black aboriginals on the other“

Anyone who read Mahabharata knows pandavas and kauravas are cousins. They fought for land, not race. There goes Mahabharatan Aryan Invasion.“The 6th Aryan invasion of the deep South (Dravidia) by the armies of `Lord’ Ram led to the fall of the Rakshasa (Dravidian) empire & the destruction of the splendid city of
Ravana“.

Rama kills ravana, and gives throne to ravana’s brother; also he does not destroy the city. Anyway these are mythologies. I seriously do not understand which version of mythologies author referred.

The next part explores Indian history. As usual, every Indian war/battle is fight between Aryan and other races. Those who won are Aryans and lost are Dravidians, Semites, Nagas what not. It is very simple to build a thesis like this. Find one battle happened in India say Kargil war. now add Aryan invasion to it prove it kargil Aryan invasion. Nice isn’t it? Greeks, Romans, Mongols, Muslims, Mughals, Portuguese, English, French… all are Aryans here. Find a year they came to India and add Aryan invasion end of their name. • Islamic Caliphate: however. Here the Aryan Brahmins collaborated with the Aryan Islamic invaders from Central Asia and maintained the apartheid Varna system.
• Mughal Caliphate of Islam : Here the Aryan Brahmins collaborated with the Aryan Islamic invaders from Central Asia and maintained this inhuman institution.

Now come to independent India. The book defines masteries of AIT. Like there are male-female , only Aryan – Dravidian author can think about. You read it.

There are some arguments here, which I found completely silly and illogical. 1. Andhra , Orissa , Rajasthan and srilanka special kind of states. When some one attacked on these states that are Aryan invasion. When these states attack on some one it again Aryan invasion.

I was completely confused with this theory everything happened inIndia is because of Aryans, every natural calamity, oil rate, tsunami .. Whatnot. You can prove anything like this. Some of them are2. “The most recent detailed study written of the relevant documents in fact arrives at the conclusion that it was the Congress that insisted on partition. It was Jinnah who was against partition“. Yeh…!! Right. And Indian people were against independence and British are for since World War 1.

3. “The harsh Brahmin-engineered Bengal famines of the 1940s led to the death of 16 millions“. Can you interpret this statement and get a valid meaning in any language ? I am still unable to understand what he wanted to say here ?

4. “No Black Sudra hero or heroine, Dravidian, Untouchable, South Indian, Adivasi, Dalit, or otherwise, has ever made any name in `Bollywood’, the North Indian cinema industry.” Does this remind you the recent survey by The Hindu daily newspaper ” no dalit in top 300 journalists ” ?

5. . Buddha will suicide, if he reads this “The Aryanised religions of Jainism and Buddhism entered South India. Do you see any similarities between chain mails and “satya narayana vrata“? Chain mails, as you know contains a photo or some text about which nobody has proper information or nobody has time to verify. The mail contains direction you need to follow, do it like this or send it to so many people. There will be couple paragraphs that look more like advertising the same e-mail. Time will be specified to do the needful, typically ten minutes. Information will be something like “….This is very rare photograph of sai baba…” or “… This happens only once in 2000 years …” etc. It will be followed by that stories of people who benefited by forwarding the mail. Next paragraph about the consequences if you fail to do what is needful. Basically chain mail is nothing but a junk which is created to keep the network busy. It works based on the reader’s spiritual/religious/patriotic feeling (any feeling as a matter of fact) into blackmail.

How does Satya Narayana vrata (written as vruta or vrita sometimes) is related to these chain mails. Satya Narayana vrata is one of the very famous Vrata’s (Indian ritual of fasting/sacrifice, that’s best I can say) lately. Many families (especially new-wed) conducts it on the day of house warming ceremony.

“…In North India the vow is observed by the vast majority of people. It takes about three hours to complete the whole observance. It is generally observed on the full moon day, particularly the Kartik, Vaisakh, Sravan and Chaitra Purnimas and the Shankranti day. It can also be done on new moon days…” Read the more information about how it is celebrated here SatyaNarayanaVrata . There will be a framed photo of Lord Satya Narayana will be placed. Arati, saligrama, tulasi, sandalwood paste etc. etc will be there as usual.

After the pooja is over, the priest will tell stories about the Vrata. The entire story goes like a chine mail you have received this morning. “… so and so had done the vrata, and they got these much money. So and so person has done it twice and he made a big fortune … “etc. After mentioning all the beneficiaries, the losers will come. “So and so person has ignored, and did not do the vrata and he lost his business, his ship sunk etc”. They can mention any kind of possible losses for a common man, right from the loss in business to multiple organ disorders. Nobody can validate, if those things really happened. Questioning is arrogance, the person who is listening will be completely taken hostage emotionally.

The priest will walk away with his pocketful of dakshina (gifts). Now that your neighbor, whom you have invited to attend this function have heard the story. If he ignores, a flying pig will shit on his head (as for the chain mail). So he calls the priest next week. This is how it works. The first story (source above mentioned link) is about how all things started:“…The Story of a Poor Brahmin There was a very poor Brahmin. He was living on alms. Lord Narayana appeared before him in the form of an old Brahmin, asked him to observe the Satya Narayana Vrata and gave him His word of assurance that he would be free from poverty, by observing this Vrata. The Brahmin acted accordingly. All his desires were fulfilled…”

One more story about how it continued:“…The Story of a Wood-cutter the same Brahmin then did the Vrata on a grand scale. A poor wood-cutter entered the compound of the Brahmin to drink some water. The Katha of Satya Narayana was going on. The wood-cutter, attracted only by the skill of the story-teller, sat down and heard it with rapt attention. He also was inspired to observe the Vrata in his house. He took some prasad and ate it.Then he went to the market-place and sold his bundle of fuel. He received double the usual amount for his fuel. He immediately purchased the things that were necessary for the Vrata and observed it along with his family members, with intense faith and devotion. All his desires were fulfilled. He enjoyed everything that was possible on this earth plane. After death he attained the supreme abode of Satya Loka where Truth alone prevails…” Then one more story about the consequence about not continuing the chain. According to the story this is how a GOD treats his children, who forgot to praise him.

“…Lord Narayana felt it was high time He reminded Sadhu of his resolve. One night, while Sadhu was at a place called Ratnasarpur, he was suddenly arrested and imprisoned along with his party by the royal police. The police suspected them to be thieves. At the same time, thieves had robbed the property of Sadhu in his native place. Meanwhile, poor Lilavathi and Kalavathi were leading a miserable life in the streets…” Now that they decided to do satya narayana vrata, they should be given back all the things they lost. If everyone starts doing one or the other vratas our GDP shall grow with 50% percent annually.

“…The king at once released Sadhu and his party from prison, giving them doubles the value for their merchandise. Sadhu came back to his boat and found that all the bags contained jewels again. He worshipped Lord Satya Narayana with intense faith and devotion…”

If you happen to search in history of Sanskrit literature, there will be no mention about this particular ritual anywhere before 1900. (This part of the information came to me from my Sanskrit teachers). No Vedopanishdpuranaas (Vedas, Upanishads and mythologies) and no literature dating before that have any mention of such a thing. Every thing was created; when priests wanted one more way of income. Build a beautiful story, take the IQs of people into hostage, and blackmail them quoting the bad consequences, advertise the fortunes. This makes me wonder, how many rituals present now, do not have any meaning at all? How may of them are created based on interest of a group of people? May be after couple of years one more story will be included in the list of vrata. One person did not put banner linking “satya narayana vrata “in his blog. His blog got spammed. When he resolved to do vrata, his blog won international award!
