    Dear Nijavada,

Please note Sanskrit is mother of all Indo-Europian languages and Dravidian languages.. Just try speaking in pure kannada, without using a single sanskrit word….I am a Kannadiga for your information…..

I am a kannadiga brahmin and I can assure you that Sanskrit is not the mother of kannada. I know sanskrit fairly well too. You can find a lot of sanskrit loan words in kannada, for which kannada equivalents exists. In the past, there was even less sanskrit words in kannada. These words have been lost over a period of time.
It is even possible that Sanskrit borrowed many words from Old Kannada.
